Open Citation Initiative

I40C - Open Reference Initiative

The Open Citation Initiative I4OC is a collaborative effort among academic publishers, researchers, and other stakeholders to promoting the unrestricted availability of academic citation data.

The aim of this initiative is to promote the availability of structured, separable and open citation data. Structured implies that the data representing each publication and each cited instance is represented in a common, machine-readable format, allowing for programmatic access. Separable means that citation instances can be accessed and analyzed independently, without requiring access to the source bibliographic products (such as journal articles and books) from which the citation was created. Open implies that the data is freely accessible and can be reused.

All journals of Asian Medical Press Ltd deposit their lists of references in articles to Crossref, enabling the unrestricted distribution of citation data to any interested party through Crossref's Metadata Delivery services.
